How Much Water Pressure Do You Need for Drip Irrigation? A typical drip irrigation system needs about 25 pounds per square inch (psi) of water pressure to function optimally, but many emitters rated at 25 psi will work well at pressures as low as 15 psi. What is Pressure Compensating? Pressure Compensating (PC) is an emitter that maintains the same output at varying water inlet pressures. Therefore, PC drip emitters compensate for uneven terrain, length of supply tube and varying inlet flows. PC drippers facilitate more controlled watering, as each drip emitter performs to a preset flow rate (e.g. 1 gallon per hour), allowing water emitted over a length of time to be easily calculated. This is by far the worst dripper ever seen. I have been using drippers for over 20 years, and sure enough, I needed to change and replace them every now and then. In this matter, they all are the same, that is you need to replace them. But these, the Uxcell 1GPH 4L/H Emitters, don't work as intended from the start.I used 6 of them to replace old ones, and to my surprise, water started flowing form the side, under the cap, but no drips form the center tube. Water was spraying all over.I tried to adjust the flow by rotating the cap without any success, either the flow stops completely or keeps spraying from the sides.I opened one by unscrewing the cap, and found inside a piece of white plastic, that is probably made to reduce the flow but instead it is blocking the tube and directing the flow to the sides. I thought may I need to remove this plastic piece and did. Now the water was flowing through the tube, but at full force, no dripping and no control.I returned them immediately the second day, and I decided to write this review to save you time specially the time that it takes to install them then remove them.
