This Dixon RES Series short shank hose fitting is made of type 316 stainless steel and connects hose to male threaded pipe conforming to the NPSM standard. This coupling is for connecting a hose to a male National Pipe Standard Mechanical (NPSM) threaded connector. A barbed fitting on one end creates a tight seal on flexible or semi-rigid hose when used with a hose clamp or crimp sleeve or ferrule (not included), and a female NPSM connector on the other end connects to a male NPSM connector. It has a nut for using a wrench to tighten the fitting and a rubber gasket with high elasticity and resistance to abrasion and impact forces for a tighter seal.
