Update 2:Buyer beware - I really tried to give this thing the benefit of the doubt.I was going to return this but I forgot and missed the return window date. This thing is pointless. All it picks up is the bigg stuff you can get with the pool net anyway... WASTE of $. Thanks to my forgetfulness, missing window to return, I'm now stuck with crappola I can't use (and no point in giving it to someone else). I've now tried this 5x and the fine dirt is STILL on the bottom of my pool. It just resettled and is so fine, it goes right through my sand filter and right back to the bottom of the pool again.Update 1:Final opinion? This thing is worth $15 at BEST. Can't for the life of me see how they think this thing is worth $30.I had to reduce this to 3 stars. Quite honestly, if you're trying to get the fine dust up, you're gonna have to work for it.Explaining the pictures: the one with the most dirt is the "before." The one with just the side of the pool is after 1st vacuum. The other pic is after the second vacuum. With that being said, this thing is only going to pick up things that your hand-held skimmer will pick up. The only plus side to using this is if you have to add water to your pool anyway, this makes the job quicker. However, the fine dust IS problematic. It just goes through the bag. Someone else suggested the nut bags work... I tried it. They are liars. Even with the nut bag inside the vacuum bag (double bagged, basically) it STILL just went through the grid of the bags like a cloud of dust, just clouding up your water.I have a 10lb sand pump on my 10 foot pool (I don't mess around lol) and it's only the sand pump that is getting rid of any dust. Basically, by stirring the dust up with the vacuum, the filter sucks it into the sand of the pump, and with each vacuuming the dust settles to the bottom of the pool less and less. However, it will probably take at LEAST 4x to get it to be clean. And I'm going to have to do a backwash on the pump after, because that fine dust is just going to work its way through the sand and back into the pool again. If I would have known this, I would have just bought a much better pump that connects to the pump. Pretty much a waste of money. If this is the process, where its relying on your pump to actually filter the water, might as well just climb in and shuffle around and stir it up while staying cool at the same time. ?The only positive thing is, it DID get half the dust the first time... but 1/2 isn't "clean." As you will see in my original post, the bottom of the pool was actually worse than the "before" picture before the 1st vacuum.Quite honestly, I'm not sure I'm seeing a difference after the 2nd vacuum. I dunno. If you can get the thicker "dirt" and debris, bugs, leaves with just a manual skimmer pole, this thing seems pointless.Original review:Ok, so first I should say that I forgot to take a before pic when I got the vacuum. I had to use a "before" picture that I had taken several weeks before cleaning the pool, so the pool was actually at LEAST 50% worse than the "before" picture. The "after" picture is what it looked like 24 hours after cleaning the pool. The reason I only took a pic of a portion of the pool in the after pic is because that was the only area that really had any noticeable dust settle. So, yeah, it really did far better than I expected on the fine dust.Yes, the bag on the vacuum does allow for the really fine stuff to get through. So, as I'm vacuuming the bigger pieces, it's also producing an underwater "dust cloud." Expect that. Also expect that to cause the pool water to get pretty cloudy by the time you're done vacuuming. However, now that allowed my pool filter to do its thing and cycle the water, cleaning it from all the really fine particles. Keep in mind, I have a 10lb sand pump on my pool. I cannot say how well this method will work if you're using a cheap filter pump.My guess is it will take me 2 vacuums to get ALL the debris up... but, for a cheap vacuum (I paid around $30-$35 I think), that's not a problem. I'm going to give it another 24 hours to make sure the water has cleared fully and all the "dust" is settled to vacuum up. But I think very little (if any) more dust is going to settle. As you can see in the pic the water is pretty clear already. What I don't like: a few times I had to keep re-screwing the handle back in. If it gets even slightly loose, the vacuum head wants to flip around, and working with the heavy hose (I need to get one of those new modern light-weight no-kink hoses) was already a nuisance. But, again, it wasn't too bad.The handle is super skinny (literally like a thumb!), and is not very long. But if you have a smaller above-ground pool, it does the job (mine is a round 10 foot Intex).I bought some nut bags (for making almond milk, etc) to use inside the bag it came with, which has a finer grate; but, did not use it, because I wanted to see how it worked as-is first. Seeing how well it did I don't think I'll need the nut bags.If you found this review helpful, please let me know. It makes me smile to know I was helpful. Thank you.Click ⬇️I got this for a small inflatable pool so we didn’t have to keep emptying the pool from the dirt and sand that inevitably makes its way inside. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money for the fancy electric vacuums. I am surprised at the suction. It definitely sucked up the small particles at the bottom of the pool with no electric power. However, I think the mesh bag needs to be a bit finer, as others have pointed out. Some of the finer particles ended up just getting pushed out of the bag and back in the pool, so I may end up trying to get a finer mesh bag here on Amazon or trying the panty hose option. We have a separate tub from the pool. We rarely clean the pool with a hose so this is a good alterative. The robot does not do a good job because of the curvesI used the product to clean the seats in my pool because my pool cleaner won't go into the seat. This little guy works great I like it and I tell you this I will not hesitate to buy something else that I need for my pool from pool. Well the reason I say that is the first vacuum was missing one piece. I emailed them and in about 10 hours I gotta reply to the email. They said they were going to send me the part. I got the part 2 days later that's good customer service no not good it's fantastic customer serviceIt’s easy to assemble & use. It works flawless for my little pool. Only thing is it adds more water to my pool which increases level and waste water. But overall it’s a good product.Great productGot this pool vac in yesterday and had to try it out first thing! Works great! Only a couple small issues on the design that needs work. The main head part where it connects to the hose shaft just kind of fits right in. There needs to be some kind of locking mechanism to keep those two pieces together. They came apart about 4 times. Also a better locking mechanism that keeps the side brushes in place. I had one come off. It was easy enough to get back on but annoying to have to keep putting it back together. Needs a better hose snap connection. Mine came apart twice. Also could add a hose clamp or two on the pole to keep the hose in place. Other than that, it did what it was supposed to and got a ton out of our pool! Make those small improvements and it would be amazing! The vacuum itself is thick hard plastic and seems sturdy enough. Could use a bit of a thicker pole just to feel sturdier.Pretty good for the price. Does the job. Hose doesn't always lock on properly and will sometimes pop off, which is a bit annoying.I don’t often leave reviews, but I think some here are a little misleading, so hope this helps. This is a low cost option for removing grass, grit and bugs from the floor of a stand-alone pool. It has reasonable suction for what it is but it won’t suddenly clean the floor of the pool like an indoor hoover might on your carpet. It needs to be submersed in water, connected to your hose, with the hose turned on before a vacuum is created to lift the debris. If there is no water in your pool/spa, yes, it will squirt out water as that was not how it works. If you go slowly and move the brush round the pool under the water, it will clear the floor. But it’s not a quick fix, and you will need to be diligent. Pictures show the debris lifted during a 10 minute sweep of our 10ft pool. For the price, you can’t expect it to do the hard work for you. Well worth the money if you have the time.To be honest, my expectations were low. Bought a 3m paddling pool earlier in the summer. Gradually gathered bugs and bits of grit and plants. This gadget cleared the lot of the bottom in about 30 mins. Works like a vacuum. I then used a mesh to clear the surface. Pool clean and clear off bits. Very happy.Been reading a load of these types of products lately not wanting to spend over £100 on a cleaner I use (maybe) twice a year on a very large above ground pool as the electronic brush versions also have horrific reviews . Though I thought I’d give this a test, but omg! Surprise-surprise what a waste of time, as per most Amazon products these days. best I can say is you’re better off cleaning the pool with your own tongue and teeth as the ‘science’ / hose behind this in the uk is as about as powerful as a chihuahua’s fart. Personally I’d save your money and either invest in a suction vacuum (well over what your normally willing to spend for a above ground pool) though they are pricey to run, or empty the damn thing and pay the dollar for the water refill….I was a little unsure after reading so many negative reviews but thought I’d take a gamble and I’m so glad I did!! I have a Bestway 8ft easy up pool and this is absolutely fantastic for it. I’ve had no problems with the net bag coming off- just make sure you tighten it! It’s picked up everything from the water perfectly and incredibly well. Have since recommended it to another 2 people that are equally happy with their purchase!! Photo shows how much was collected after a very quick sweep round.
